Villa Carlotta once more explores its origins, this time with an exhibition revolving around three large Baroque paintings, restored for the occasion. The splendours of the 18th Century evoked by the exhibition featuring the Clerici family also reverberate between the walls of the Wunderkammer. The unifying thread is light, the main feature of the art and thought of this century filled with charm and open to modernity.

The exhibition traces a century of Lario – as Como is also known – life and history of photography. The exhibited works are part of a private collection of over 3,000 photographs, a meticulous collection complied by Ruggero Pini of Como. A journey that began in the nineteenth century, with Luigi Sacchi and Pompeo Pozzi, and ended with snapshots by Alfred Stieglitz.
