Villa Carlotta once more explores its origins, this time with an exhibition revolving around three large Baroque paintings, restored for the occasion. The canvases are by some of the leading artists active in Lombardy at the end of the seventeenth century: Legnanino, Filippo Abbiati and Paolo Cazzaniga.

Clear, fresh and sweet waters. Photographic travels on Lake Como

The exhibition traces a century of Lario – as Como is also known – life and history of photography. The exhibited works are part of a private collection of over 3,000 photographs, a meticulous collection complied by Ruggero Pini of Como. A journey that began in the nineteenth century, with Luigi Sacchi and Pompeo Pozzi, and ended with snapshots by Alfred Stieglitz.
