The scent of spring floods the gardens!

On April 2, 2026, the anniversary of Duke George II's birthday, the Villa Carlotta Foundation will inaugurate an exhibition dedicated to the vintage postcards preserved in the museum's Historical Archives, coinciding with the celebrations organized in Meiningen, the duke's hometown.
Through a selection of postcards, the exhibition traces the evolution of the garden, the villa, and the surrounding landscape, offering a glimpse into the transformations these places have undergone over time. The project was developed by interns from the Advanced Training Course in Museum and Exhibition Curators, Department of History, Anthropology, Religions, Art, and Entertainment (SARAS) - Sapienza University of Rome, in collaboration with the museums of the 19th-Century Lombardy Network and the Villa Carlotta Foundation.
