to the women who are not allowed to fulfill their dreams! a tutte quelle donne a cui non è permesso realizzare i propri sogni!

26 June – 8 December 2025

Villa Carlotta continues its commitment to promoting contemporary art with a new, evocative exhibition in dialogue with the park and the museum's collections. On June 26, 2025, two environmental works by artist Maria Dompè ( www.mariadompe.com ) were presented to the public. This project intertwines art, history, and nature, inspired by all the women forced to give up their dreams and dedicated to the young Princess Charlotte of Prussia, owner of the villa, who died prematurely at just 23 years old.

The artist presents two works in dialogue with the site and its history. One is a temporary installation in the museum's plaster cast room, conceived for the opening day, and the other is a permanent installation in the garden, bordering the woods in the upper part of the complex. This project fits well with the goals of enhancing and enjoying the newly redeveloped areas following the extensive works associated with the project "A step in the park, a step towards the future. Villa Carlotta, a resource for the territory," implemented as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), M1C3 - Investment 2.3 "Programs to enhance the identity of places: historic parks and gardens," and funded by the European Union (NextGenerationEU).

The artistic project is curated by Elena Di Raddo, with the involvement of Livia Crispolti and her students from the Textile Culture course (Department of Artistic Design for Business) at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, and coordinated by Maria Angela Previtera and the gardeners of Villa Carlotta.
